On 1989 and later big twins the case is machined deeper to make room for the thicker 32 amp stator. This shim kit replaces the stock rotor shims when installing a 32 amp stator on 1970 1988 big twins. This provides proper rotor to stator alignment while keeping the primary chain alignment the same.
